After a long time of waiting I’m happy to finally reveal some news about the upcoming rerelease:
This compilation of all older Heretoir tracks and a completely rerecorded edition of .Existenz. will be entitled “Substanz”.
The coverart-picture has been painted by Herbst of Lantlôs - I really like his style of painting and I think that this picture really represents the mood of this release very well!
“Substanz” will be released in August 2012 via Northern Silence Productions as 2CD Digipack and LP - the exact release date will follow soon!

As promised here’s a little “present” : you can now download the tabs for “Graue Bauten”, “Heretoir” and “Retreat to hibernate” from the attached link! The archive consists of PDF’s aswell as Guitar Pro 4-files. For playing along to the songs please note that “Graue Bauten” and “Retreat to hibernate” were recorded with a slightly higher tuning than E-Standard - so you need to re-tune first.

After a long time I’m very glad to let you know that Heretoir finally has an official webpage!
Many thanks go to my dear friend Felix Harle who did a great job setting up everything! From now on, here you will receive news on everything going on around Heretoir, you will have the possibility to listen to our music (new songs will exclusively be available here) apart from a quality-killing youtube and myspace and you will also find further information on contact, concerts, label etc. . There will be page-updates from time to time, but I personally really like the fact that the page is minimalistic, simple and clear in its structure. Let us know what you think - enjoy and spread the word about www.heretoir.com!

Heretoir is a german post-black metal band founded by Eklatanz in 2006. The bands name, consisting of “here-” from the english word “heretic” and the french syllable “-toir”, is a fictional synonym for “going an own way”.
Conceptually Heretoir deals with melancholy, nostalgia, isolation and self-reflection. The music is meant to be a soundtrack for discovering one’s deepest thoughts, fears and the soul that rests in each one of us.
The band’s beginnings were rooted in pure acoustic music but Heretoir quickly evolved into a combination of aggressive elements of Black Metal and the beauty, melancholy and reverie of Post Rock and Shoegaze. In its broadness the music conveys the daily myriad of feelings and impressions that our multifaceted world confronts us with.
Heretoir is nostalgia, melancholy and a glimmer of hope...
